South through East to North East
The anchorage is on the north west shore of the island opposite a landing and some buildings. The holding is quite good. The photo "Taylor Island 2" linked below shows the anchorage and part of the sand spit that extends to the small island to the north. This sand spit and island provides shelter from E to NE winds.
Taylor Island is a useful anchorage in Thorny Passage.
Across from the island off the Jessieu Peninsula there are other anchorages that will provide shelter from the North West to the South West.
